Information for Visitors

Visitors should enter through 2 Atlantic Avenue, check in with the front desk attendant in the lobby, and then take the elevator to the 4th floor where they will be greeted by the appropriate Barr staff member.

The office is designed to create a warm and welcoming environment for our visitors. Bright, open, flexible spaces foster collaboration and host meetings and events. We provide guests access to all-gender restrooms, and reservable quiet rooms for religious, parenting, or other needs that may arise during their visit. Barr grantee and funding partners may use our convening spaces for groups up to 30, and are invited to reach out to their program officer with related requests.

Barr staff and trustees sit around a conference table having a lively discussion.

Transportation

There is a BlueBikes station in front of 2 Atlantic Avenue. The closest MBTA train station is Aquarium on the Blue Line and the closest bus stop is Atlantic Ave @ Atlantic Ave on Route #4.

For drivers, there are parking lots on either side of 2 Atlantic Avenue, as well as a small garage underneath the building. We do not validate parking. Visitors may also take a water taxi to the Sargent’s Wharf stop, which is located directly behind The Pilot House.
