Massachusetts Education Equity Partnership
Committed to fostering excellence and equity in education
Convened and supported by the Education Trust (Ed Trust) team in Massachusetts with funding from Barr, the Massachusetts Education Equity Partnership (MEEP) represents a diverse community of passionate advocates committed to fostering excellence and equity in education across the Commonwealth, from preschool through college, particularly for students from low-income backgrounds, students of color, and other underserved groups.
Since 2017, MEEP has become the State’s cohesive and coordinated collective demanding and advancing educational equity. Its accomplishments over the last several years include shifting the narrative about Massachusetts’ education standing, informing policy makers about critical educational issues like the school funding formula, and becoming a go-to voice on education equity for state education leaders, legislators, and the media, and helping numerous organizations who had historically not had a seat at policymaking tables gain access to state and local education leaders.
Cohort of Partners
Grantmaking Process and Inquires
Grants awarded by the Barr Foundation originate in different ways. The majority are initiated by our staff based on their ongoing engagement with grantee partners and the broader field. Additionally, given the value we place on long-term partnerships, many grants are renewed for current grantees.
However, we welcome inquiries from those who feel their work may align with Barr’s priorities and who wish to introduce themselves to us.
