Randal Rucker

Retired

Randal graduated with honors from Belmont University in Nashville Tennessee with a major in psychology and double minors in business and biology. He served in leadership capacities in the student union, student disciplinary committee and more. Randal graduated from MIT with a Masters in City Planning (interdisciplinary program at MIT's Sloan School of Management and Urban Studies and Harvard University's Schools of Public Health and Medicine). His studies concentrated on community health, health finance and organizational development.

Before retiring in 2015, Randal worked over 30 years in executive and leadership positions in public, for-profit and non-profit settings. These positions ranged from working as a paralegal specialist at the Federal Elections Commission, Director of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Determination of Need Program and Senior Consultant at the Health Data Institute, to Chief Operations Officer and Chief Executive Officer in primary, specialty and behavioral health community systems serving tens of thousands of less-resourced children, youth and families in greater Boston.

Randal also served on various city, state and national committees focusing on governance standards, best-practice programming and replication, public-private partnerships and public policy. He also served many years as a Director of the Mercantile Bank in Boston and was Chair of their Social Responsibility Committee.

Among his most enjoyable engagements and recognition was serving as an Overseer at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park in Lincoln, MA and being honored with the national Peter B. Goldberg/ARAMARK Executive Leadership Award in 2012.

Since retiring, Randal served on the Board of the Maine Childrens' Alliance. He is now serves on the Board of Directors of the Victoria Mansion in Portland, Maine. He and his partner have remained supporters of Welcoming the Stranger, a community effort in Greater Portland to support and mentor asylum seekers in Maine.
